My experience over Obstetrics "skipped a week of my BC pill"

About a week ago I had my tonsils out and had so much swelling in the beginning that I couldn’t swallow any pills. Now I am able to get a pill down and I’ve skipped the whole first week of the BC pill pack. I’ve looked through the instructions that come with the pills and they just mention about if you skip a day to resume the pills as usual. My OBGYN is so booked and won’t do any telemed consults to answer my question so I am coming to reddit to figure out whether or not I should start the pack of pills even though I am a week late on taking them.

For context; I had my period during my surgery and was on the placebo/last week of the pill pack during that time. Now I am exactly 1 week late starting the new pack/1st week of the pack. My BC is Dasetta 7/7/7.
