My experience over Obstetrics "Body on no birth control"

I recently (like this week) stopped taking my birth control. Last week was the conclusion of my period, I followed the pills through Saturday and stopped. Today, I noticed my period has come back. I was having a bit of brown spotting prior. Is this just my body adjusting to no longer being on birth control? I thought maybe that was it, but I also didn’t think it would start this quickly!
