My experience over Obstetrics "feeling like i have to pee on my period"

hi! when i am on my period i often feel as though i have to pee, but when i try to pee it it often very little. is this normal? also is there any way to minimize this?

also every time i look this up it says STI/UTI but i am pretty confident it is neither of those
