My experience over Obstetrics "yeast infection won't go away"

A few days ago I got a yeast infection. I went to the store and took a 1 Day Monistat treatment. I put it in at night and laid down for the rest of the night.

It hasn't gone away and it's been 4 days now.

I called my obgyn today to get an appointment this week, but my doctor is out. I also found out I have a yearly check up next week (13th) that can't be any sooner due to insurance reasons, so I'm going to wait til then to mention it and maybe it will have cleared up on its own. I also was hesitant to see another doctor this week since it'll be two co-pays and two times I have to take off work to go to the doctors.

Can I do anything else to help treat it on my own? Is it bad to buy another Monistat kit and treat it myself since I just did a large dose the other day?
