My experience over Obstetrics "Ovarian cyst painful before period?"

Hi, I'm 28F and I have a question about something.

Recently last week I had an ultrasound and the doc found an "benign ovarian cyst" on one of my ovaries. I forgot to ask which one but I'm pretty sure it's the right.

In 2017 I had abdominal pain on the right so bad I couldn't move. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance but by the time they did all the test and took a CT, there was nothing there anymore. They had given me IV pain killers and in about 4 hours I was better. So they discharged me.

Now I'm having mild but constant burning and sore pain in my lower right abdomen, it started in the morning and has been on and off all day. My period is supposed to start like in 2 days so I think I'm having pms. But is there a way to know if it's the ovary? It's not painful enough to need the ER, but very annoying and distracting. I can walk and move without it hurting though. If i press the area it doesn't really hurt more than when I don't. I don't have any other symptoms.

I'm kind of nervous only since it's lower right and that's also where the appendix is. How would I know if it's the appendix or the ovarian cyst? Thanks. (All urgent clinics are closed now, and ERs are overcrowded so I'd only go if absolutely must).
