Obstetrics - Can endometrial polyps detach themselves?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Can endometrial polyps detach themselves?"

Hi. My friend is 51 and has just been diagnosed (3 weeks ago) with stage 1 cervical cancer. It was the biopsy that showed this - not the ultrasound. She also has fibroids, and a uterine polyp was found at her ultrasound. She has her consultation on Monday. She has been spotting/bleeding lightly on and off for a year or more, but recently this has occasionally been very heavy. Just now what she called a 'clot' came out. It's about 4cmx2cm. Could this be the polyp?

Naturally she's quite worried. She has also experienced some intense internal pain.. 'pulling' around her groin/lower back/upper thighs that seems to originate around her pelvis.

Thanks.
