Obstetrics - How can I find out what’s causing my consistent pelvic pain?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "How can I find out what’s causing my consistent pelvic pain?"

I’ve (27F) been having constant left pelvic pain for 2yrs now, left lower back pain that radiates to the same pelvic area in the front when I massage it with a lacrosse ball, and consistent bloating (which used to only occur the week before periods). I went to the obgyn and was basically told to get on birth control to manage the pain. I don’t need pain management, I’d just like to find out what’s going on since this pain feels different than usual period symptoms. I feel frustrated that my provider didn’t seem to listen to me, refused any diagnostic screening, told me to just come back in a few months to see how the pain is and kept pushing me to take birth control. I booked an obgyn appt BECAUSE I had been having pain for a year! I wonder if it could be endometriosis/ovarian cyst/ovarian cancer/anything else. How can I figure out what’s going on?

Background info: 1) 5 years ago, I went to the obgyn for occasional sharp shooting pain from my anus to the front around my uterus. They did an ultrasound and didn’t find anything. The pain eventually occurred less frequently but still happens every now and then.

2) My mom had an ovarian mass removed when she was 45 since she had the same pain and elevated CA125 levels. We haven’t done genetic testing to see if ovarian cancer runs in the family.
