Obstetrics - Cysts of either side of perineum:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Cysts of either side of perineum"

I’m a 36F that has experienced cysts around my groin in the past few months in the form of Bartholin’s cysts. They’re typically on either side of my vulva and are pretty painful but go away after a few days of applying warm compresses. I’ve had three of them over four months.

Yesterday I developed two painful swollen areas on either side of my perineum. These are of equal size and are located closer to my anus - about halfway between my anus and vulva and further down from where the previous cysts were.

They don’t seem to be affecting my ability to use the bathroom, but they are very painful. They feel like pea-sized lumps under the skin and are right across the perineum from each other. The area around them is somewhat puffy. I’ve been applying a warm compress with the hope it helps.

What could these be? Could they be related to the Bartholin’s cysts?

Also, why might I suddenly be developing cysts so frequently? I also had a bout with mastitis last week that went away after a few days - had never had one before.

I’m otherwise healthy, eat well, don’t smoke or drink, have never had kids, am not pregnant, haven’t made any major life or lifestyle changes lately. The only medication I take is a low-estrogen birth control pill.
