Obstetrics - PCOS / Birth Control Question:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "PCOS / Birth Control Question"

I want to start by saying I can’t get an appointment with an ob/gyn until next year, and my PCP already told me she doesn’t know, so I’m turning to the internet.

Hi all, I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and so I was prescribed birth control pills (the blend kind) to regulate my ovulation/periods. However since then, for 2 months now, when it’s my bleed week I don’t bleed. But, I do notice around the end of that week I’ll start to spot.

So: what do I do? Should I not take my pills for 2 weeks to allow for my body to have a period, or keep just doing the placebo for one week and let my body figure it out eventually (?).

Basically forums have been my only way to get educated about PCOS since my dr told me she basically knows nothing about it. Any advice is appreciated!
