Obstetrics - Questions about iud / arm bc:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Questions about iud / arm bc"

Pap smears are unfortunately painful for me. Would considering an IUD be ideal?

I’m looking into non-hormonal birth control after four years single. I’m debating between the arm and the iud options. Any opinions on either?

I have been on hormonal before but eventually learned I can’t take anything hormonal because of migraine auras and such. I also know I can’t keep up with a pill.

What is the pain of an iud insertion? How bad is it? Is it reasonable to ask my doctor to knock me out with anesthetic before inserting it? I may have to consider being knocked out as an option just to get Pap smears in the future.
