Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Severe and sudden pain"

I had a sudden onset of severe pain localised to my lower right side, I think my right ovary. I'd score it about an 8/10 for pain. I was unable to get comfortable, pain lasted for 2 hours, but went away with some paracetamol.

It is cycle day 8, so not related my period, or ovulation. I have unexplained infertility, so actively trying to conceive.

Since the pain has gone away (still feels a little tender), should I go to my doctor to discuss? My guess is it was a ruptured cyst.
