What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.
My experience over Obstetrics "Things are off after C section and 3 doctors haven't helped."
I had my second c section and a tubal ligation 6 months ago. 12 weeks post partum, quite a while after my bleeding stopped I went to poop and there was a huge brown glob hanging out of my vagina. I panicked and wiped it and it was thick mucous and completely uniformly brown with little black flecks. I RAN to a local hospital and they said I would need to see an OB and sent me home. I had just moved to the city so my OB wasn't nearby anymore and each one I called could only see me months out so I went to a local women's hospital. They did an exam and ultrasound and found nothing of note except an ovarian cyst. The next day it happened again and continued to happen every time I pooped for about a week.
I finally caved and traveled 2 hours to my ob that did the surgery and he did an exam and declared it was still lochia 12 weeks PP. However for months now every time I have a period this stuff comes out a week later. Every time I have sex with my partner, there it is and again the day after. It's been 7 months now. Does anyone have any idea what is happening?!? There is no cramping associated with it and now it is thinner but very "snotty" and now it isn't as dark but is certainly tinged brown. I'm just so worried that something is really wrong.
