My experience over Obstetrics "need to get sti testing?"

So I hooked up with someone for the first time last week, and by hookup I mean we fooled around a bit, but there was no penetration. I’m not sure if I should get tested now for anything. It was both of our first times doing anything at all, even kissing, there was no ejaculation, but some of his precum might have gotten near my vagina. I don’t feel any symptoms, but I heard diseases like chlamydia don’t show symptoms. So, is it necessary to get tested if it was both of our first times? My parents are very conservative so this would be somewhat of an issue.
