My experience over Obstetrics "Bad Cramping/Vaginal Bleeding"

To start, I am on the birth control patch and I skip my periods. I woke up wednesday with bad cramping and thought maybe I was just constipated but it was even worse on thursday (yesterday). Today is Friday and I was cramping all night and this morning. My boyfriend and I went to go get breakfast and when we got home it felt like I was bleeding so I went to the bathroom and sure enough I was. I’m bleeding as if i’m on my period and i’m confused/concerned as this hasn’t happened before and i don’t usually cramp like this even when I am on my period. Like I said I skip my period so I put a new patch on every Monday and am very good about not forgetting. I don’t know why i would be getting a period 3 days after putting on a new patch after months of not having one. Is this normal or should I get it checked out?
