Obstetrics - Redness around labia—normal?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Redness around labia—normal?"

I'm using a throwaway for this question. Posted this on another sub too.

I (23) was trimming my downstairs area earlier today when I noticed that the area between my labia majora and minora are a deep red. I admittedly don't look down there often and I haven't been sexually active for a few years. When I have looked there in the past (starting in childhood), I've noticed the area being red but it never occurred to me that it could be a problem until I started seeing other vaginas through porn. It is NOT itchy, burning, or giving any indication of it being irritated*, and it is on both sides of my labia majora/minora. No sexual partners have commented on it. I keep it clean on a regular basis with just water. I haven't been to a gyno yet, nor have I ever had a yeast or bacterial infection. I would like to know before I go to a doctor; is it normal for some women to have super red lips down there?

*Actually, I am noticing very minor irritation right now after looking at it again. This is the first time I've felt this burning down there, though. But again, I've had this redness since childhood.
