What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Bleeding for over a year non-stop(28f)"
I’ve been having light bleeding for over a year non stop. Everyday. I wasn’t on birth control until four months ago. My doctor said the birth control would help, I’ve tried four different birth controls in these four months. They help for the first two days but then it goes back to bleeding again. Six months ago I had emergency surgery from an ovarian cyst that grew incredibly quickly, and I’m at higher risk for ovarian cancer due to my sister having had such an aggressive form of ovarian cancer before she passed. My doctor did a blood test and my estrogen levels were high, 780(not sure what that means) i went to the obgyn after and didn’t explain I’ve been having other issues so she’s been doing the switching of birth controls but nothing is happening. What can I do or say so they can do more testing about this? My thyroid was tested but gp said it was low but still in the “ok” levels. My hair has been falling out, severely light headed at times, stomach issues, I’m being treated for depression, had an abortion in November a month before my ovarian surgery and the abortion wasn’t completed, the walls were thicker than they were supposed to. I’ve had a rough past year where I feel like somethings wrong with my body but I can’t figure out what it is and need to communicate better with my gyno, my gp is no help.
