My experience over Obstetrics "Peri menopause at 39???"

I’m 39 and for the last year or so I’ve had a few random missed periods. Dr didn’t seem too concerned at my visit last year. Is this possibly peri menopause? Or would 39 be too soon for that?

I’ve been on birth control pills most of my adult life. After my second child I had mirena for 5 years. After I had that taken out I decided to go off birth control completely. In my teens I had a regular period, no issues. Been off mirena for 3 years now.
