Obstetrics - Saw a doctor do 2 Paps at once on a young POC:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Saw a doctor do 2 Paps at once on a young POC"

110% a throwaway since I don't want this tied to me. I am AFAB and have had a very painful pap in the past myself.

I work in a cytology lab and today I processed 2 tests for a young women with an STD exposure. A single Pap tests can test many things at once including everything they ordered on both reqs.

I'm horrified that a woman had to get her cervix wire brushed twice, scraped and then brushed again all while so exposed and incredibly uncomfortable. I myself couldn't have sex for weeks after mine and had a good amount of pain the entire following week.

This doesn't seem standard anywhere, our bosses were confused and hadn't seen anything like it. There's way less invasive tests for the std screening they did and I'm worried her insurance is also going to make this difficult. She's also under 21 and a pap at her age wasn't required by normal standards.

Can I say anything/report this to anyone? Should I? It seems so dehumanizing. I'm sick of AFAB people being discriminated against in medicine, shamed for their 'risky sexual encounters' and punished for them as it seems this doctor did. I can't stop thinking about it....I know this doesn't top the cake at all for what doctors have ever done but I personally find it awful.

Obviously can't reach out social media wise or anything because HIPPA
