Obstetrics - Fibroids:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Fibroids"

I was diagnosed with a few submucosal fibroids two years ago that seem to be growing quickly.(now 3cm). I had been complaining previously about heavy periods and my doctor attributed it to my age (32). I ended up finding the fibroids incidentally during an emergency surgery on my appendix.

My doctor said she recommended just trying to skip my period so she put me on a high estrogen pill for 90 day cycles.

However instead of stopping them, my periods have just gotten worse and I bleed through the pills. My blood work shows me as anemic, I go through a heavy pad every hour or so and have golf ball sized clots all day long for days.

I've seen three different doctors at this practice and all pushed the high estrogen pill on me. Does this sound right? I thought estrogen causes them to grow?

Should I change practices?

Thanks for any advice.
