Obstetrics - Cyst in Fallopian Tube: Remove just the Cyst or remove the Cyst AND Fallopian Tube?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Cyst in Fallopian Tube: Remove just the Cyst or remove the Cyst AND Fallopian Tube?"

29 year old Female. 5cm/2 inch Cyst discovered May 2022 and the size has not changed significantly since then. My doctor suspects that my Ovarian Cyst is actually in my Fallopian Tube and he recommends removal.

He says that if during surgery he is able to confirm that the cyst is fact in my left Fallopian Tube, he will remove the cyst AND my left Fallopian Tube. I was surprised because I thought he would be able to remove only the cyst without removing the Fallopian Tube.

I was thinking of getting a second opinion from another doctor but also don’t want to seem like I’m questioning his judgment or expertise (I’m anxious lol) but I think it’s important I ask still. Any insight from anyone who has experience this or has any info is appreciated.
