Obstetrics - IUD Dislodging?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "IUD Dislodging?"

I (26F) have had my IUD placed since 10/01/2021. I have Mirena. The strings were cut incredibly short, so much so that they indicated they would not trim it more than they have to. Today, I felt intense cramps and noticed that I was spotting and blood clots were coming out of me. My period ended last week. When I checked my sting, I felt a TON of the string a lot shallower than I’m used to. Normally, I have to strain to reach it with my fingertips. I’m still feeling crampy and I’ve checked a few times, the stings are still low. They’ve never been this low in a year of checking. My boyfriend and I had incredible — yet rough/vigorous — sex last night. I’m worried it’s now dislodging/fell lower down in my uterus. Is it worth checking in with my OB/GYN or am I insane? Should I take a Plan B?
