Relationship - I'm(29M, American) dating an Iranian woman(23F) and I don't know how to take the next step.

I'm trying to get her to move in with me, which is what we both want. She's tried to explain to me that her culture has an extra step before engagement, and I must present a ring to her father and ask for his permission for her to live with me, but she's told me this isn't the same as an engagement ring and that it's still expected to propose later. I asked if men get on their knees for this too like in America and she laughed so I'm guessing not. Is there anyone with similar experiences that can help me approach this, and balance the best of both worlds? Or anyone that can clarify the steps to take to marry in Iran?

Some background, we've been dating for 10 months. She stays with me every weekend, her parents don't have any issue with that. Her family was raised Muslim but it seems to be in the background, they mostly practice when her grandma is visiting from Iran. I'm also not able to see her when her grandma is here due to her religion, which is the main reason I want to do this 100% perfect so her whole extended family will embrace me too.

Tl;Dr American dating Iranian in America needs to know how to ask for fathers permission for her to move in prior to engagement.
