Obstetrics - Squishy lump on left side of vaginal opening? Or is it just normal anatomy?

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Squishy lump on left side of vaginal opening? Or is it just normal anatomy?"

Hi, apologizes in advance for a graphic question + photos. This is sort of embarrassing for me… some NSFW photos provided.

Basically, I’m having a hard time figuring out of this is normal or something work seeing my doctor about. I have a fair amount of medical anxiety (I tend to fret but then I get nervous about the issue being nothing and me looking silly).

I’ve seen photos of Bartholin’s cyst and I’m really not sure it’s what’s going on.

I have a squishy lump on the left side of my vaginal opening. It’s firm, yet squishy… definitely not fluid-filled. I notice it mostly when there is pressure on my perineum, such as on the toilet, squatting, or legs flexed. I do notice it more when I’m aroused as well (though I’m not sexually active…).

It really doesn’t cause pain… occasionally it’s a little achy but honestly probably just because I’m focused on it at that moment.

Basically what I’m asking is… does it look normal? Or should I make an appointment to get checked out?
