My experience over Obstetrics "4 month period"

Hi guys, I’m (23/f) turning here for help because my gynecologist has thus far been unhelpful. For the last two years since going off the Depo shot, my period has been extremely inconsistent. I’ve always had irregular periods and a lot of pain, which is the primary reason why I went on the shot at 18. After being on the shot on and off for 3 years, I decided to switch to hormonal birth control pills because of the acne it was causing (Estarylla, though I have tried several other kinds of estrogen and combination pills without much difference). I’ve been on Estarylla for about a year and a half now with some reduced pain and PMS symptoms, but have continued to have irregular periods (about two a month and never following consistent cycle). For the last four months, though, I’ve had a nearly non-stop period (it has stopped twice for a period of 2-3 days with some spotting). This has been four months of a regular to heavy flow. Not spotting.

I’ve gone to my gynecologist, but haven’t had much luck. For the last several years he’s been trying to figure out what’s causing my irregular periods, but my hormones are normal and I’ve had multiple ultrasounds with no abnormalities. It’s unlikely PCOS (I don’t have most symptoms), so I’m looking for other possibilities. For the last month or so I’ve been experiencing some pretty terrible cramps and migraines as well. I take my birth control religiously at the same time everyday, never missing a dose.

Obviously, this is very frustrating. Any ideas what this could be/anyone out there that has also experienced this and found some relief?
