What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "I had a colposcopy a few months ago…"
New to this sub. I wanted to ask professionals and others if what is happening to me is normal, or if I should return to my ob/gyn ASAP.
About 7 weeks ago, I had a colposcopy to remove/biopsy some suspicious cells that turned up during my last pap. I’m fairly young, and have only had two pap smears in my life - both have turned up abnormal (LSIL). My longtime partner and I waited the recommended two weeks (really, we waited longer. I didn’t feel fully healed until ~3 weeks post-procedure) to resume our normal bedroom activities. However, one thing both of us have noticed is that intercourse causes a good deal of spotting/bleeding for me, nearly two months after the fact. It is comparable to the spotting you get ~12-24 hours before your period (though I have a copper IUD, so my flow is probably not the norm).
Has anyone else experienced spotting/bleeding months after a colposcopy?Doctors, is this something to be concerned about?
