What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Need a hysteroscopy, but obgyn wants endometrial biopsy first??"
From my brief research it seems that an endometrial biopsy can be performed during a hysteroscopy and would provide more accurate results? I had a TransV ultrasound that spotted a possible growth that needs further investigation, hence the recommendation for a hysteroscopy from the ultrasound results. Has anyone had experience in this area?
Also, I am nervous about experiencing any pain. My obgyn laughed and said it would be a walk in the park compared to "what I've been though". Um, just because I've had experience with severe pain doesn't mean I'm just cool with feeling pain, especially during a scary invasive procedure?
I'm seriously considering getting a second opinion but worried about wait time for appts. Any advice on how to better advocate for myself concerning pain control for procedures?
