Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Would an OB mind answering a few questions ?"

Ruptured ovarian cyst

• when the dr says if the pain gets any worse to come back, what does “worse” mean? I have had what feels like period cramps/gas pains for a week, sometimes it gets a little worse then goes back to normal

• can anyone give me a ballpark time period of how long the pain will last? Like I said, it’s been a week, I’m just over it at this point, it never goes away

• is birth control really the only way to try and manage ovarian cysts?

• heating pad and 800mg ibuprofen do NOTHING for the pain

If anyone has any experiences to share that would be lovely too
