Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "cannot be claimed?"

I had to request a receipt for the medical note that I purchased to submit to my workplace because I'm undergoing an open lap tomorrow. I paid and the note was retrieved today, but I forgot to ask for the receipt because I'm going through a lot right now and just feel stressed.

When I called the office later to request a receipt, the receptionist told me that "it can be written but cannot be claimed". Can someone please elaborate on that?

I don't understand how it works and she rushed to get of the phone so I couldn't ask.
