Obstetrics - Is it unusual that no one recognized my baby was OP in labour until he was in distress?:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Is it unusual that no one recognized my baby was OP in labour until he was in distress?"

Had a traumatic vacuum delivery with my baby who was OP- although the issue wasn’t found until he was in distress and a specialist was called in who identified he was OP immediately. Should it have been recognized he was OP before (or during) the two hours I was pushing?
