Obstetrics - Question about Cervical Length:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Question about Cervical Length"

Hi, I am having trouble finding any information on this. I am currently pregnant with my second child. At my recent anatomy scan I was told that I had a very long cervix (6.83cm). I found this really interesting because I had never been told my cervix length before. I know that cervix length changes. It got me wondering, if I have a long cervix now during this pregnancy does that mean that I have a long cervix in general? Like would I have a longer than average cervix during non-pregnancy or during my previous pregnancies? Is this something that stays consistent or is it just random? Everything I could find just talks about typical cervix lengths during pregnancy, but I want to know if this is a feature of my body or just a one time measurement. Thank you!
