Obstetrics - Complex Ovarian Cyst:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Complex Ovarian Cyst"

Hello! I am feeling anxious and would love to know your thoughts. I am a 30-year-old woman with chronic pelvic pain due to interstitial cystitis and pelvic floor dysfunction.

I went to the OBGYN in May for pelvic pain and my ultrasound was completely normal at that time.

In July, I had a CT for other reasons that indicated a left ovarian cyst.

I just had another ultrasound. The left ovarian cyst is still there with no significant changes. My results indicate a complex cyst (predominantly cystic) measuring 3.85 by 3.55 by 3.26. I immediately had blood drawn for the OVA1 tests and scheduled a surgical consult.

My symptoms include increased urinary frequency, pelvic pain, heaviness, and some bleeding. I have not been on birth control for several months due to multiple hepatic adenomas.

Should I be concerned?

Thank you for your feedback!
