What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "Question about irregular period, fiberous like bloody discharge"
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about a year now. So I had bloodwork and an intravaginal ultrasound about 2 months ago and everything came back normal. My last period which started 9/4/22 was six days late. I took two pregnancy tests, both negative after two and four days late. I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time. My period came and it's usually pretty heavy and lasts 8 days due to von willebrands. My period started and lasted only 5 days. I attributed it to stress and the UTI. I'm very prone to yeast and bv especially with antibiotics and of course got both. So at the end of my period I took a diflucan and am on the fifth day of vaginal metrogel.
Today I noticed some spotting. It was a little darker so I assumed it was probably just the gel adding more discharge and old period blood. Later on however I started passing a few very fiber like looking blood red clumps. They were not fleshy or solid like say a decidual cast nor was it slimy like a blood clot, I get normal ones enough to know and worked as a medical assistant at an obgyn. It looked like neither. It was almost like a bunch of little fibers were together. It wasn't solid, and about the size of a silver dollar. I have some typical light cramping you'd expect like before your period starts but mostly the right side
I'm assuming it's just stress and the infection messed up my period and this is maybe just little clumps that maybe were missed? I just want to be sure that seems accurate as it's not something I've experienced and I have some anxiety with my period and trying to conceive in general.
ETA- I should note there are brown flakey spots like old blood and then red spotting as well with the spotting.
