My experience over Obstetrics "complex ovarian cyst in 48 year old?"

hello everyone! i just wanted to make a post on behalf of my mother, 48F. she's been having some abnormal bleeding, bloating, and constipation, and went to her gyno to get an ultrasound last summer. results came back saying she had a complex cyst, suspicious for a corpus luteum, measuring 1.5 x 1.8 x 1.5 cm. she had a follow-up ultrasound recently, and it showed that the cyst is now 2.3 x 2.3 2.2 cm. previously, her doctor had said that the cyst would resolve, and no measures should be taken since it's quite small. however, we're a bit worried since the cyst is complex, has grown, and hasn't resolved in almost a year. her mother also had breast cancer, but there's no strong familial history of the disease to our knowledge. she'd like to know if she should push for removal. if anyone could please provide some insight/advice, that'd be wonderful, thank you!
