Obstetrics - OAB or pelvic organ prolapse:Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "OAB or pelvic organ prolapse"

Hi All! I I’m going to my PCP tomorrow for a pelvic exam, and then potentially a urogynocolegist if I can get in- as I have a ton of symptoms that seem to be explained by POP. Needing some advice

I’m 27 years old. I’ve always had chronic UTIs from being born with VUR that did self correct, but still a lot of issues. I’ve managed those as I’ve gotten older, and don’t really get positive cultures even with symptoms. I also have times of chronic constipation that I am managing well now, but it lead to an anal fissure.

My main symptom is urgency/frequency. It seems to come and go or “flare”. I had it really bad after having a surgical abortion and was terrified something obstructed as I was peeing 40/-50 times a day. It subsided after a few weeks but more recently I am having to go 20 times a day. And have a pressure sensation or awareness in vagina. I can’t see anything upon self examination, but I do feel my vaginal wall move and close down a little on my fingers when I cough and bear down. Especially in the back near my pubic bone. After self examining and pushing/prodding I have to pee really bad too and it’ll burn a little. NO current UTI- already tested

I’m just confused, are the vaginal wall and tissues not supposed to move or drop AT ALL? All that stuff is connected so I’m just confused if I’m looking for like a small round bulge or just the sensation of the walls/tissue getting closer and tighter around my fingers?

I just would like some advice before going to speak to doctors. Im so nervous of not being listened to as I really want to figure out what’s going on and help manage my symptoms. Especially before I get pregnant. I went to a urologist about 5 years ago when I was having a ton of urgency and 16 UTIs in a year and they didn’t find anything. Just that I had a really small urethra and wanted to try me on some nerve/brain medication.
