My experience over Obstetrics "please take the time to read this. I'm desperate"

I had unprotected sex 8 days ago, and he came inside me. I'm not on any birth control. I was supposed to get my period 5 days ago, but I was late and got it super lightly three days ago, but my periods have never been late or irregular. I haven't bled at all since last night so my period has barely lasted three days, but usually it's a least 6 days long. I just took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Is there a chance I could still be pregnant? I'm trying to get pregnant. I really would like to be. If I'm not, what could be causing it?
