My experience over Obstetrics "Deep vaginal pain after Pap smear"

I’m hoping for some guidance. I’m 32, one child, no previous issues down there. I’ve actually not been sexually active for a few years. I went to the OBGYN about a month ago to obtain birth control as I have been seeing someone and want to be proactive. But still haven’t been intimate yet. I felt absolutely fine before I went in. The papsmear hurt a bit more than previous times, it even bled which never happened before. The pap came back with atypical glandular cells of endocervical origin but HPV was negative. I’m set for a follow up Thursday but since that pap I have been feeling discomfort that has now become extremely painful. I don’t think I can wait until Thursday. So my questions are:

1. What the heck is happening to me?
2. What should I do? Do I try to get into OBGYN or go to ER?

Thank you for any help!

Edit: I should also add that I am a bit swollen down there as well.
