Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "What type of physiological care is offered to women who have traumatic births?"

I know that between 6-12% of women suffer ptsd from childbirth, and was wondering what sort of physiological evaluation & care is offered to women who’s doctors are aware they suffered traumatic births, before sending them home to care for a vulnerable dependant like an infant.
