Obstetrics - questions about trichomoniasis (pleaseee help):Health care

What is "Obstetrics " ?

Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.

My experience over Obstetrics "questions about trichomoniasis (pleaseee help)"

i tested positive for trichomoniasis this week. i have been reading extensively about it but still have some questions that don’t seem widely discussed online. if you experience with trich, please leave any comments and advice. i would really appreciate it. more specifically: - i have been tested for trich four times this year with my most recent test being because i had a new partner. my first three were negative, my most recent positive. does anyone know the accuracy of a trich swab? im wondering if i’ve been getting false negatives and i was the carrier, or if my new partner is the carrier. it doesn’t matter since everything is consensual and adults know the risk of sex, but i am seriously curious. we use protection always but again, trich is transmissible even with condoms (like wtf 😀) - for the men: if you have been tested for trich, can you tell me the process? is it just urine or did you perform the urethra swab? i ask because i read about the urine being around 65% effective and the swab in the 90% range. i am worried my partner might return with a false negative. what does a doctor in the US do to test men for trich? - is it true that trich can resolve itself in men? is it possible that by the time my partner is tested, he is cured? - is trich a standalone STI? i was seeing some articles covering trich and chlamydia alongside each other, maybe because of similar treatments. but is it like if you have/had chlamydia you have/will have trich soon enough? i don’t think so but is there some weird trich and chlamydia crossover that i am missing

i feel like getting the prescription wont be an issue (since he has a partner, me, who is positive) but from a contract tracing standpoint i hope the clinic runs the urethra swab from him since we are not exclusive

as for myself, i am on doxy and metronidaz

thanks for your input!
