My experience over Obstetrics "Can I use tampons 1 week after a colposcopy?"

I had my colposcopy and biopsy done last friday around 3 pm. It is now 1 week after my procedure and I am on my period. I would like to use a tampon tomorrow, Saturday morning, as I was advised to wait 1 week before having intercourse or using tampons. Will I be okay to use a tampon or should I wait an extra day?
