What is "Obstetrics " ?
Obstetrics is the field of study concentrated on pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. As a medical specialty, obstetrics is combined with gynecology under the discipline known as obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), which is a surgical field.
My experience over Obstetrics "I feel like my period pain is bigger than just "it's normal at your age"."
I started birthcontrol at the beggining of the year for period pains. I was missing a lot of school due to pain. I would pass out from pain. There were times where I was in bed crying for an hour until eventually I black out. I usually don't make noises if I'm in pain usually it's just a ouch and I move on with my day but it just hurt so bad that I couldn't move and I was moaning in pain. My periods were also very irregular and I bled a ton in the very little windows I had my period. I had leaked thru a pad that was meant for heavy flows in 2 hours. I went home crying a lot of days.
My obgyn started me on the mini pill and at first I felt nauseous starting it but she said it would be normal but it's been over 9 months with it and gradually the pain is starting to get back at that point. My mood swings have been crazier than usual. I started the bleeding today, and while working I started zoning out when my cramps were present. They were present most of the day. When people are talking to me about work or when customers ask for help it's so difficult to focus and do my job. I power through it for now but it's getting harder to do it each time a month passes.
My obgyn says that it's normal for me to experience it at my age but I just don't feel like it is. I understand the cramps can hurt but there's so many girlsI know that have normal cycles and light flows with no interference from birth control and I feel like my pain is being overlooked. The only good thing that came out of my birth control was the protection and the little weight gain I was hoping for but is the birth control just isn't doing well now or is it something else? I don't know what to do about it
